A superb William Moorcroft Florian Ware vase finely tube-lined with art nouveau irises and forget-me-nots in delicate shades of blue. An elegant shape which complements the design beautifully. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine age related crazing typical of these wares, but nothing to detract from this lovely example of Moorcroft pottery. Rare to find these early pieces in such good order. A similar vase can be seen in Paul Atterbury's book on page 37. Printed James Macintyre Florian Ware mark with registration number 326689. William's 'W. M. des' initials in green and pattern number M705 in brown. Height 23cm (9in)
