An early and boldly decorated Mason's Patent Ironstone indented shape dinner plate in a vibrant Japan pattern depicting a flower filled urn. Printed in underglaze blue and then hand painted with iron red, cobalt and ochre, this fine plate is in excellent condition, showing little signs of wear. Printed 'Mason's Patent Ironstone China' with Dublin retailer Thomas Higginbotham* (c1800-1830) mark. Diameter 26cm (10.25in)

*Thomas Higginbotham of 106 Pill Street (now Chancery Street) first appears in Wilson's Dublin Directory of 1801, described as a China and Delph merchant.
