A superb arcaded plate by John Davenport with a view from the 'Rustic Scenes' series. Printed in medium blue with cottages and ruins amongst prominent trees with a boy pointing a seated traveller towards them. The arcaded edge has a fine 'basket weave' inner rim. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Lovely blue pearlware rippled glaze and no foot rim. Impressed 'Davenport' above an anchor. Diameter 18cm (7.1in)
