Information
A lovely plate with a pierced (arcaded) and basket weave rim, printed in dark blue with a view taken from the 'Italian Scenery' series. Features a river scene with a woman in the foreground with goats and a cow. Two men in a rowing boat are on the river and in the background is a fine Italianate building with a tower and a bridge leading to it. The arcaded edge has been hand painted in the same dark cobalt blue. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine age related crazing (really only noticed under a magnifying glass). Blue rippled glaze with a single foot rim. Unmarked, though possibly William Adams or Enoch Wood. Diameter 20.4cm (8in)
