A rare Poole pottery 953 sugar shaker in red earthenware and decorated with the EZ pattern designed by Truda (Adams) Carter. Painted by Rene Hayes on a white ground. In good condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. One of the sifting holes has a slight glaze frit (see image 4). No stopper. Impressed CSA POOLE ENGLAND circular mark (used on sugar sifters), incised shape 953 and painted pattern reference ZE with decorator's mark for Rene Hayes. Height 12.1cm (4.75in)
