Early Clarice Cliff Original Bizarre Geometric Biscuit Barrel c1928 (Sold)

A superb Bizarre geometric biscuit barrel produced in the first six months or so of Clarice Cliff's original designs in the summer/autumn of 1928. Triangles and diamonds in blue, red and purple form a bold and striking design on an old Newport shape. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. A couple of minor scratches to the red banding, really mentioned for accuracy and nothing to detract. An impressive piece of early Clarice. Hand written 'Bizarre' in red enamel and printed Newport Pottery mark. Height with lid 17.5cm (6.9in)
