A fantastic Carlton Ware 'Mikado' preserve jar complete with original under saucer and cover with a gilded pear finial. Hand enamelled with chinoiserie scenes on a lovely powder blue (later called 'bleu royale') ground and embellished with best gold. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear. Rare to find these early pieces, especially complete and in such good order. Saucer with Wiltshaw and Robinson, Carlton mark with painted pattern number 2364 and jar with painted pattern number. Diameter of saucer 12.25cm (4.8in)
