An early baluster shaped cream jug printed in medium to dark blue with a parkland scene of a seated boy showing a bird's nest to a girl in a Regency dress standing before him with her dog. A charming example of north country pearlware. Finely potted with hand painted blue trim and bluish glaze. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Printed J. DAWSON in underglaze blue (John Dawson, Low Ford Pottery, South Hylton, Sunderland fl.1799-1837) . Overall height 10.75cm (4.25in)
