Davidson's Red 'ORA' Cloud Glass Powder Jar c1930

A large Davidson's red cloud glass powder jar and cover. The rarest of all cloud colours, red had the shortest production life (1929-1931). The colour was achieved by painting either the underside or inside of a purple or amber cloud glass piece red and the technique was patented under the trademark 'ORA'. This fantastic example has been painted on the inside and under the foot - the effect is stunning. Great colour and in lovely condition, showing little sign of wear. Base and cover both have the 'ORA' label with patent number 329022 and the date 1929. Width 12.75cm (5in)
