A beautifully modelled Parian bust by Copeland after the sculpture 'Miranda' by Calder Marshall RA. Shown wearing a garland of seaweed, Miranda is the daughter of Prospero from Shakespeare's The Tempest and was banished to the island along with her father at the age of three. She is openly compassionate and unaware of the evils of the world that surround her. The name comes from Latin, meaning 'worthy of admiration'. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find, especially in such good order.
