Clarice Cliff Original Bizarre Geometric Tankard Cream Jug c1929

An early Bizarre geometric tankard shape cream jug painted in red and blue with green lines. A bold design on a lovely old Newport Pottery shape. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear. Produced in the first year or so of Clarice Cliff's original designs. Gold 'Bizarre by Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery' backstamp (used briefly in the autumn of 1929) over a Newport Pottery mark. Height 5.8cm (2.3in)
