Charles Meigh Stone China 'Amherst Japan' Pattern Dish c1840

A fine 'Amherst Japan' square dish by Charles Meigh of Hanley. Nicely painted in iron red and cobalt blue with highlights in yellow ochre. Scrolled handles in cobalt blue with gold trim. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear. Displays beautifully. The pattern is repeated on the reverse - a lovely feature. Printed scroll with 'Amherst Japan Stone China'. Width with handles 22cm (8.7in)
