A superb Carlton Ware oval tray - shape number 1608. The largest of three sizes produced, it's beautifully decorated with raised enamel anemones in pinks, blues and purples on a shaded pink and pale blue lustre ground. In great condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear to the gilding. Fine age related crazing only noticed on close scrutiny and nothing to detract from the display value of this lovely item. Carlton Ware script mark, impressed shape 1608 and painted pattern reference 4245. Length 29.75cm (11.75in)
