An unusual Carlton Ware green 'Fruit Basket' jug from the art deco period. Great depth of colour with vividly painted fruit and a crisply modelled shape. In excellent condition, though there is general crazing and some age staining to the base (see image 5) which doesn't detract. A fine example of old Carlton Ware. Script 'Carlton Ware, Made in England, Trademark Registered' backstamp. Height 9.5cm (3.75in)
