Blue and White Pearlware 'Lion Hunt' Cheese Stand c1830

A large and impressive low tazza or cheese stand printed in medium blue with an unusual scene of a lion attacking a deer whilst being surprised by two hunters on horseback and another aiming a rifle from some bushes. Finely printed with an oriental/Indian type background of temples and other buildings. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild staining to the reverse, but nothing to detract from this lovely and unusual item. Unmarked. Diameter 30cm (11.8in)
