Spode Green Bat Printed 'Bird and Vine' Porcelain Sucrier c1830

A lovely Spode sucrier with twig and leaf handles and flower finial, sitting on four scrolled feet. Bat printed in green with birds perching on grape vines, detail and trim finished in best gold. One of a series of bat prints featuring birds on branches produced by Spode in the 1820s (patterns in the range 4433 to 5169). In excellent order; no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. Some mild staining to the interior from age and use, though nothing to detract. Rare to find in such good condition. Painted Spode with pattern number 4841 in red. Height with lid 15.2cm (6in)
