Royal Doulton Fox Hunting Rack Plate after Drawings by Hugh Thomson D2397 c1910 (Sold)

A fine early series ware plate by Royal Doulton with a printed and hand tinted print after a hunting scene by Hugh Thomson which was featured in the 1897 Pears Annual 'A Tally-ho Idyll'. It shows the second of four known scenes in the series (known as Thomson series A); a lady and five gentlemen trotting. The series was first introduced in 1903 and withdrawn by 1928. In good condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Printed Royal Doulton marks and painted D2397. Diameter 26.25cm (10.3in)
