Information
A superb pair of Sowerby aesthetic movement vases each finely moulded with three swans amongst reeds and bullrushes. Listed in the 1882 pattern book as shape 1436. Lovely depth of colour and opalescence and in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or repairs. A few minor manufacturing inclusions and blemishes visible under magnification, typical of 19th century pressed glass, mentioned for accuracy and nothing to detract. Fantastic examples that display beautifully. Rare to find, especially as a pair. Sowerby peacock trademarks and registration diamonds for 14 August 1879. Height 9.5cm (3.75in)

A single example can be seen here in the Victoria and Albert Museum collection.
