Rare Royal Doulton 'Bluebell Gatherers' Westcott Jug D3812 c1915 (Sold)

A lovely Royal Doulton small Westcott jug from the rare 'Bluebell Gatherers' series introduced in 1914 and withdrawn by 1928. One of twelve known scenes depicting a woman (sometimes with a small child) in a sun dappled woodland glade collecting bluebells. The border on the inside rim has flocks of birds in trees. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Clean age related crazing, but nothing to detract from the display value of this charming and rare item. Royal Doulton backstamp with painted series reference D3812. Height 10.3cm (4.1in)
