A superb pearlware tea bowl and saucer printed in dark blue with a wide border featuring roses and dahlia type flowers. The central image of a fallow deer with her fawn is framed by an unusual inner border of scrolls and diamond shapes. Both pieces in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine blue rippled glaze. Bowl unmarked, saucer printed '4' in underglaze blue. Attributed to Clews and probably made for export to America. Diameter of saucer 14.6cm (5.75in)
