Information
A fine dinner plate printed in medium blue with a Russian Palace in a country setting, with a three arched bridge, deer in the foreground, and two Russian figures crossing another bridge under a weeping willow tree. The scene is framed by a floral border which includes convolvulus, roses and other flowers. Very similar in feel to Davenport's 'Mosque and Fisherman' pattern. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some clean age related glaze crazing, though not obvious. Finely potted slightly indented shape, blue rippled glaze and no foot rim. Printed 'Semi China' (used by many potters for various earthenware bodies) and early Davenport impressed anchor (c1795-1810). Diameter 25.4cm (10in)
