A superb Grimwades Bruce Bairnsfather 'Old Bill' vase with "WHEN THE 'ELL IS IT GOIN TO BE STRAWBERRY?" on the front and "WHAT TIME DO THEY FEED THE SEA-LIONS, ALF?" on the reverse. Both cartoons signed and the rim with a border of helmets, cap, mess tin and a rat attacking a tin of corned beef. Printed in the usual sepia tones. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and minimum signs of wear. A rare item, especially in such good order. 'A Souvenir of the Great War, Bairnsfather Ware' backstamp. Height 16cm (6.25in)
