Rare George Jones Majolica 'Barrel and Hops' Set of 3 Graduated Jugs c1870

A beautiful set of three graduated majolica jugs by George Jones moulded with barrel staves and hops. Charmimg rustic branch handles and lovely bright colours with lavender pink interiors and bases. In great condition; the small and medium sizes are perfect, while the largest has a minute 'pinhead' chip to the rim near the spout (too small to photograph, you almost need a magnifier to spot it). Still a rare set to find complete and in such overall good order - Victorian sets of jugs of any type have always been difficult to source, so it's fantastic to find majolica ones. Painted pattern number 1846 to the bases - described in the George Jones pattern books as 'Barrel Jugs'. Heights 15.5cm (6.1in), 14cm (5.5in) and 12cm (4.75in)
