A finely detailed Hewitt & Leadbeater portrait bust of Albert I King of the Belgians (reigned 1909 to 1934) who led the Belgian army during World War I and guided his country’s postwar recovery. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Sculpted by G. S. Chadwick. Inscribed HL 'By G S Chadwick, Copyright Oct 29th 1914'. Height 18cm (7.1in)
