A fantastic Grimwade's Bruce Bairnsfather large plaque depicting one of his World War One 'Old Bill' cartoons with the caption 'Well if you knows of a better 'ole, go to it'. Unusual border with biplanes, shells and trench debris. Printed in sepia with Bruce Bairnsfather signature. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Mild crazing typical of these wares and a slight transfer crease line across the border (top left), but notrhing to detract. Printed Grimwades Globe mark. Pierced foot rim for hanging. Diameter 25cm (9.8in)
