Burton 'Vase of Flowers' or 'Lovick's' Pattern Dinner Plate c1835 (Sold)

Stock Status: Sold Out
Information

Made by Samuel and John Burton of Burslem, Staffordshire (1832 to 1845). It is sometimes known as Lovick's pattern after the Norwich retailer whose printed backstamp has been recorded on items of this design. A lovely mid blue and a fine print with a large vase of flowers, butterflies and an exotic bird. The border of scrolls frames the central design beautifully. In good condition, showing little sign of wear, there are a couple of glaze rubs on the rim edge; nothing serious. A superb example of this bold and decorative floral design. Unmarked as is most of this pattern. Diameter 25cm (9.9in)
